On November 23, 1954, Steve was born in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1972, he graduated from
Parkway West Senior High School in Ballwin, Missouri. After college and law school, Steve was a VISTA volunteer at the Great Falls Montana Legal Services working for the poor.
Steve then returned to the US, working for one year in Clovis and Portales New Mexico with the
New Mexico Public Defender Department. In 1985 he settled in Santa Fe where he has remained ever since. He worked initially as the Death Penalty Defense Director for the Public Defenders and then became an associate with the
Jones, Snead, Wertheim & Wentworth PA law firm. In 1992 he opened the Aarons Law Firm shingle where he has worked ever since.
Steve and his wife Doris Valdez live in Santa Fe county. Together they have one son, Ian, age 8, who attends public elementary school in Santa Fe. Steve enjoys back country skiing, tennis, chess and guitar.
