In 2003, the New Mexico Legislature passed a law making it possible for certain persons whose licenses were revoked to choose betweein obtaining either a limited license or an Ignition Interlock License.
If you submitted to a blood or breath test in the present case, and if there is no record of you refusing to submit to a blood or breath test in the past, you can choose between a Limited License and an Iginition Interlock License. You do NOT not need to install a Blood Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device (BAIID) with a Limited License.
You must serve the first thirty (30) days of the revocation period without any type of license.
A Limited License is good only for the limited purposes of driving to and from work, for work related purposes, school, and court-ordered treatment programs. You must provide written proof of your work, school, or participation in a court-ordered treatment program. You must pay a $45.00 license fee to MVD.
